Experience and Philosophy

Phil has been a full time photographer for 25 years working in a variety of genres. He is well known in the music industry being commissioned by many record companies and publications, documenting rock bands, actors and politicians, receiving much accolade for his work. His 12 year stretch with the pioneering music journal, ‘Melody Maker’ saw him work with artists such as U2, Bjork, Nirvana and The Red Hot Chili Peppers producing many iconic images.

Phil began taking wedding commissions seven years ago, wanting to bring something different to this field. His background, experience, attention to creative detail and the ability to ‘squeeze’ every opportunity out of sometimes challenging situations, bring originality to his images. He believes the best way to capture the true ‘personality’ of any wedding day photographically, is by using a documentary style approach and natural light. This way the flow of the day is uninterrupted and its uniqueness is recorded. Many claim to offer documentary style photography but few ‘shine’ in this area - it is a distinctive skill.
